Accounting Specialist

Location: Houma, LA


Baywater is looking to add an Accounting Specialist to our team at our corporate office location in Houma, La. This role will report to the accounting department leadership. The Accounting Specialist position will be expected to learn quickly, communicate effectively, and work well with other members of the team.

To be successful in this role, you must be an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with great attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the cash management process
  • Prepare various account reconciliations
  • Perform project setup and maintenance
  • Assist with monthly close process
  • Assist with yearly audit
  • Assist with special projects
  • Assist with variance analysis
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure data represented correctly


  • Associate degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of directly related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work well and build relationships with individuals across levels and roles
  • Strong customer service orientation, both internal and external
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge and work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to interact with people at different levels throughout the day through multiple mediums
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding for controls
  • Ability to analyze, escalate, and resolve problems
